Dallas, Texas, May 2014 – Tim Pike, a senior audit manager with leading CPA firm Howard, LLP, gave a presentation entitled, “FASB/PCC Update” to more than 1,500 participants as part of The Dallas CPA Society’s 2014 Convergence held on May 8, 2014 in Dallas.
The past year has seen a significant amount of activity by both the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and the Private Company Council (PCC). Tim’s session was a survey course that provided participants with updates regarding the new accounting pronouncements and current projects of the FASB. Additionally, the discussion included information regarding the efforts of the PCC, which may have broader effects outside the standard-setting process for private enterprises.
At Howard, Tim is responsible for the staff training and development of the firm’s assurance practice as well as performing peer reviews. He has over 14 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting in a wide variety of industries, and he also devotes considerable time developing and teaching continuing education courses in professional and accounting standards, effective communication and leadership. Within the Dallas CPA Society, Tim is Co-Chair for the Partner in Education Committee, Vice-Chair of The Dallas CPA Society’s 2014 Convergence, and was recently named Young CPA of the Year.
