We’re excited to introduce another intern today! Get to know all about Krista, a Howard audit intern, inside and outside the office below.

Before Howard

Krista has an ambitious educational background! Before joining our team, she was a triple (yes, triple!) major at Austin College. She graduated with bachelor’s degrees in political science, economics, and finance. Krista is currently going above and beyond again, as she is working towards two master’s degrees in both accounting and business analytics at UT Dallas! She’ll wrap up with these programs this summer, and we’ll be cheering her on all the way.

Krista also worked as a paralegal before deciding to pursue accounting. She realized during this time that she enjoyed her finance classes and wanted to go in that direction. During another accounting internship, Krista discovered that she finds excitement in the audit side of accounting, specifically because it allows her to build relationships with clients.

At Howard

We’re thrilled to have Krista on our Audit Team! She’s particularly enjoying the variety of experiences she gets at Howard. Rather than staying stagnant with one section of an audit, she’s learning a little bit of everything. Krista appreciates that her peers on the Audit Team help her through challenges; she says that they’re happy to go out of their way to walk her through anything she may need assistance with. Finally, Krista is getting to build and nurture those client relationships that drew her to auditing. It’s exciting to see our interns take the learning opportunities they’re presented with at Howard and soak in as much knowledge as they can!

Beyond the Internship

In the near future, Krista’s main goal is to finish her graduate programs. She’s getting so close! Afterward, she hopes to continuously learn and grow professionally.

Outside the Office

Krista is passionate about the outdoors and loves to go camping. She enjoys making these trips with her friends, her dog, or going solo. One of Krista’s favorite places to go camping is Oklahoma, and she’s hoping to branch out and travel to Arkansas soon. Her ultimate goal is to go to Zion National Park!
